Whittington Church by S H Grimm, 1785. The building in the churchyard, far left is probably the original Webster Whittington School. It is thought that there has been a church on this site since 1140. This old Norman church was replaced with a new church built in 1862 and opened in 1863, however, this church, apart from the tower and steeple, was destroyed by fire in January 1895, but was subsequently re-built.
